another square dance dress, this one a nice, sedate brown.  i love me some brown.

now that i gave up a very important finger to my engagement ring, i have to start wearing more necklaces.  i’ve always been a ring person, and i am way more nervous about wearing the same ring every day than i am nervous about actually being married.  i like to switch things up.  anyway, this is my mister t necklace.  i pity the fool who doesn’t like it. yeah, i went there.

brown fishnets and pewter shoes during a rare visit to ravens.  there was a time when i practically lived at this place, but now i have to time visits carefully, since the place is a veritable timewarp.

ladies and gentlemen, once again – my petticoat!

outfit details: brown squaredance dress is vintage by jeri bee; pewter wedges are steve madden; chocolate fishnets are spanx (most amazing ‘nets ever!); rabbit fur jacket is vintage; coral slipdress worn as a petticoat is vintage from sears; silver cross necklace is a cheapie from ebay

song inspiration: “rain dogs” by tom waits.  anyone who knows me well knows that i have had phases where i was mildly obsessed with tom waits, and lately i feel the dark sickness grabbing hold of me again.  it’s just everything i love about music – clever, satirical lyrics, innovative music that retains some old-worldly flavors, accordions and such.  i love his early, troubadour-esque stuff and his growly, inventive late stuff equally – whichever of his many albums i choose to listen to just depends on my mood that day. i even got to see him live on the mule variations tour.  this video captures the awesomely evil carnival qualities of his live performances perfectly.
