this crocheted dress is actually my sister’s, but she left it at my place and i love it to bits and she’ll lucky if she ever gets it back. i joke, i joke – thanks for letting me borrow it, kari. this pic was taken on the roof deck at colossal squid – beautiful panoramic views of chicago’s lovely skyline.
and a transistion to evening. i wear my sunglasses at night.
this diamond ring was my great aunt emma’s – she got it for being one of the first women to graduate with a master’s degree from northwestern university. and now it’s mine. i don’t normally like diamonds AT ALL – i think there is so much evil behind them – but since this is vintage and a family heirloom, i am making a special exception and have decided to like it a great deal. so there.
outfit details: cream crochet dress is vintage – i think my sis purchased it at a flea market or something; yellow snakeskin wedges are bcbg; bow headband is urban outfitters
song inspiration: “the luckiest guy on the lower east side” by the magnetic fields. this video is a cute student animation of one of my favorite songs from 69 love songs. oh, who am i kidding? i love 67 of the 69 songs on that 3 album set. but regardless, this is a good one and always speaks spring to me.
Love that gorgeous ring and I feel honored to share your aunt’s alma mater.
love the dress and the ring.
