so i dislocated my knee a few weeks ago, and recently upgraded myself from crutches to this sweet lucite cane. it kind of makes me feel like a badass, albeit a gimpy, limpy one. here’s me sporting my cane-chic at bar deville after work.
you should be pleasantly shocked with me at this amazing new cameo ring that i purchased at a garage sale for 50 cents
outfit details: shirt is parasuco; grey chiffon dress is a no-name cheapie; grey plaid newsboy cap and stirrup tights are purchased on ebay; silver wedges are steve madden; ring was thrifted; lucite cane was is life-saving gift from lee – those crutches were making my arms so sore
song inspiration: “tomorrow” by james. james is my favorite band in the entire world and has been since i was 17 years old. i got to see them live saturday night, and it was, as it always is, an amazing, cathartic experience. i love their albums, but james HAS to be experienced live to really get what they are all about. tim booth, the lead singer, is into shamanistic dancing and when they all get going on stage, it creates a spiritual effervescence that permeates through all barriers. it helps that they have rabid fans and the audience really moves into the experience too. anyway, you can expect some james posts in the days to come, starting with this live video from their dvd show shot in manchester in 2001.
Ah! Lucite cane! You look so badass!
