i don’t wear black very often, but i love this vintage ruffly square dance dress and have to break it out occasionally.  i’ve had it for ages and it will be one of the dresses i never get bored with.

as you can see, i am incorporating my lucite cane into my style nicely.

sitting on the roof at work enjoying the beautiful autumn sunshine.

outfit details: black lace and ruffle square dance dress is vintage; platforms are vintage steve madden; purple fishnets are by hue; sunglasses are from my own upcoming line kaahn

song inspiration: “plasticities” by andrew bird.  man, love me some andrew bird.  i see him around chi-town a lot since he lives in my neighborhood and i have seen him play live tons of times.  honestly, he’s kind of a genius, not to sound lame, but all aspects of his work are amazing.  his lyrics are clever and thoughtful and interesting, and then the music is so melodic.  yet somehow different too…the varied plucking and layering violin techniques along with his  whistling add so many textures to the sound.

That’s such a pretty dress! I love black lace, there’s something so sexy and demure about it. Also, those shoes? Unreal.
