i haven’t been feeling the greatest lately, so i have been going for comfortable simple clothes like this target dress layered over a band tee.  thank goodness working in downtown chicago always gives me a little energy rush.

sally wore this exact same dress yesterday too, but with much cuter shoes.  as you can imagine from viewing my vintage obsession, that very rarely ever happens to me.  it’s kinda fun.

you know what always makes me feel better when i’m under the weather?  wine, that’s what.

and also books.  i took a quick trip to myopic books in wicker park, which is one of my favorite places in the entire world.  i bought a few agatha christies and some theology books.  can’t wait to have time to read them.

outfit details: dress is liberty of london for target; incredibly comfy shoes are merrell mezame ballet; tee shirt is from this awesome austin band called shotgun party; beret is from ebay; all jewelry is thrifted or ebay

song inspiration: “lady liberty” by okkervil river.  this is in honor of this liberty of london dress that everyone and their dog seems to have.  this is off an old okkervil river album called don’t fall in love with everyone you see.  it’s pretty awesome, with horns and such.  i love this album (and most of their albums, really) and the band is really great live too – i think i have seen them 11 times over the years.

Great song! I just got into Okkervil River about a year ago, but I haven’t heard this album. They came to DC in June and I wanted to go, but I couldn’t get anyone to go with me (no one seemed to have heard of them!) and while I was dithering about whether to go by myself, it sold out. 😦

hey tricia, this was the album that first got me into them about 1o years ago. it’s much twangier than their later stuff, but it’s all good. check out the song “red” on it – it’s gorgeous.

next time go see them for sure! you won’t regret it.
