just picked up this 80’s dress on ebay for a dollar.  i had to do some magic with a scarf to keep it appropriate for the office, but overall i am quite pleased with it.  any excuse to wear my new yellow ‘vogs.

outfit details: silk dress is vintage; yellow wedges are fluevog; bag is kate spade; scarf and jewelry are thrifted

song inspiration: “heart in your heartbreak” by the pains of being pure at heart.  i don’t like their new album as much as their earlier stuff, but i still totally dig the retro feel to most of their music.  it’s nice to have something catchy out there that is distinctive and fuzzy at the same time.

Do you listen to SiriusXMU? We are absolutely fans of into several of the same bands, it’s blowing my mind a bit. I don’t meet many fellow indie rock fans so to find your blog featuring vintage style, fancy shoes AND indie is too much. I dig.
Also, ONE dollar for that dress? Did I read that right? What’s your secret?

hey girl, i haven’t listened to that station but i will. i love meeting fellow music junkies. i’ll drop you an email too so we can exchange music recs more directly.

and yes, a dollar. my secret is searching wide on ebay and then cutting out the sizes and things that don’t fit. i specialize in buying the things which the people selling have no idea how to tag appropriately. 🙂

  2. I can’t believe you found that dress for a $1 — it definitely looks like something from DvF. Such a gorgeous print! And I love the splashes of yellow in your outfit. Between you and Already Pretty, I’ve been curious to try out Fluevogs …

Also, just wanted to say that I really like your comments on gomi — very informative and thought-provoking. Glad to have found you! 🙂
