i had yet another pleasant evening with doug stephen this weekend, one of my very favorite people to hang out with. he’s a staple of the chicago ad industry and and also plays in a band with my husband, so we have fun geeking out about production as well as my usual topic of music, music, music. it’s chilly in chi-town already, so i was rocking my green leather bomber jacket. yay for autumn.
in addition to just being awesome, doug has a great sense of style and always looks interesting and put-together at the same time. like this:
we also enjoy accessorizing like it’s our job. for a little color in the midst of my olive and leopard i threw on this asian enamel necklace i recently purchased at vintage underground, a store in wicker park that i love to haunt.
doug collects vintage swatches and was wearing one from his giant collection.
as an added bonus, our buddy jonathan, copywriter extraordinaire, joined us at the pepper canister. a good time was had by all.
outfit details: cream dress is jovovich-hawk; brown mary janes are frye; leopard print shirt is thrifted; olive leather jacket is bebe via ebay; olive tights are vera wang; doug’s glasses are thrifted; his sweater is by pringle; the tie is from barney’s (ooh, fancy); his jacket is by penguin; pants and shoes are both from the gap
song inspiration: “into the wilderness” by burning hearts. i will never ever hear this finnish duo without thinking of doug. we both love electronic indie-pop and he turned me onto them awhile back…and neither of us have looked back since. enjoy.
